Minimum spread

Minimum bid-ask spread, key cost indicator for traders and investors.

The spread is the difference between the buy price and the sell price.

For example, if a centralized platform offers to buy a cryptocurrency at $1.01 and sell it at $0.99, its spread is $0.02, or 2%.

In decentralized finance, DEXes do not have order books: the spread is calculated using an algorithm that depends on supply and demand.

Traders seek the lowest possible spread in order to obtain the best price for their transactions.
